Selecting the Right Type of Washington Home Insurance

3/19/2012 11:37:42 AM

When you first begin to look around for the right type of Washington home insurance to give financial coverage for your possessions, you may come across the varying classifications. It is important therefore to choose the insurance that not only provides you with the coverage you need, but also is suited to your current financial situation.

The home insurance options (designated by the abbreviation HO and a number) indicate the difference between the policies. HO-1 is a limited coverage policy which is only available in some states. It provides only basic coverage for 10 listed perils in the policy. HO-2 is a slightly more advanced basic home insurance policy, giving some coverage against 16 listed perils. HO-3 is the most popular of the homeowners insurance policies and will provide financial protection against all perils, with the exception of those that have been listed as exceptions. For example, insurance against flood damage may need to be bought separately. Finally HO-8 is designed for homes that are older.

Burglary, fire or a natural disaster may occur at any time and it is important that you have coverage for any such eventuality. Selecting the right form of Washington home insurance may be crucial in giving you the extent of coverage that you require. Talk to one of our agents for more information.
